where it all begins

Ellebi is the written acronym in full of the initials of the founder Luigi Bifulco. Here he is pictured with his wife Franca Marinucci who led the company after his death, a few years after its foundation. Luigi’s vision: to enhance the culture and the rice supply chain also in the South. For this reason, after years in the north, he returns to Campania, to San Paolo Belsito where he lays the solid foundations of RISO ELLEBI.

The company

Our secret since 1980 is to select every quality of Italian rice only in its own area and from the best rice fields that enhance and respect the product. We have adopted a respectful processing method that begins with the slow drying of the paddy and ends with the slow stone processing that does not stress the grain. Finally, before packaging it, we add an additional extra selection phase, to bring only the best beans to our customers’ tables.

THE NUMBERS

The challenge in the future of Ellebi is to complete Luigi Bifulco’s vision through dialogue with southern farmers to increase the cultivated areas and strengthen the sector. Today, innovation and tradition travel together to make Ellebi among the first rice brands in Italy and then also in the world. In 30 years of experience the name of Luigi Bifulco has reached 5 continents and about 50 countries in the world.
