THE STORY.
where everything begins
Ellebi is the full spelled acronym for the initials of founder Luigi Bifulco. He is pictured here with his wife Franca Marinucci, who led the company after his passing a few years after it was founded. Luigi’s vision: to strengthen rice culture and supply chain in the South as well. For this reason, after years in the north, he returned to Campania, to San Paolo Belsito where he laid the solid foundation of RISO ELLEBI.
The company
Our secret since 1980 is to select each quality of Italian rice only in its own area and from the best rice fields that enhance and respect the product. We have adopted a respectful method of processing that begins with slow drying of paddy rice and ends with slow stone processing that does not stress the grain. Finally, we add an ‘extra sorting step before packaging to bring only the best grains to our customers’ tables.
THE NUMBERS.
The challenge in Ellebi’s future is to complement Luigi Bifulco’s vision through dialogue with farmers in the south to increase the area under cultivation and strengthen the industry. Today, innovation and tradition travel together to make Ellebi among the top rice brands in Italy and then also in the world. In 30 years of experience, Luigi Bifulco’s name has reached 5 continents and about 50 countries around the world.

- Green Commitment
Our factory is equipped with an efficient photovoltaic system, thanks to which we save the use of more than 40 tons of oil each year, and the emission of CO2 into the atmosphere decreases more and more.
Contributing to our commitment to an increasingly green future is the presence of a combined heat and power cogenerator through which we harness thermal energy while saving on nonrenewable primary energy.
